Reusable crate scheme

The foodservice industry uses millions of cardboard and wooden boxes, for receiving and delivering fresh produce to customers. To minimise the environmental impact of our work, Reynolds has implemented a returnable crate scheme to replace cardboard boxes.

Plastic crates can be re-used time after time. They are washed between uses with a state of the art system designed to ensure the most efficient and therefore environmentally friendly use of water.

Using the plastic crates to deliver to customers over the last year means Reynolds has contributed to:

  • Sending three quarters of a  million fewer cardboard and wooden boxes to customers

  • The saving of hundreds of tonnes of cardboard and paper

Many of Reynold's customers have now changed over to returnable crates. This reduces waste for Reynolds and reduces waste collection cost for their customers.  For further information:  http:www/reynolds-cs.com
